Environment Overview
A number of the key areas of our business bring us into daily contact with environmental issues, particularly pollution and emission control. At ECS we understand the need for effective management of the environment and we are committed to helping our clients achieve an effective environmental policy.
Management of the Environment
The company has a long history of monitoring, maintenance and management of minewater and clean water pumping stations, including compliance with discharge consents, chemical treatment, pump changes and organising and recording relevant information.
We also organise the monitoring and maintenance of a number of disused mine shafts and boreholes, ensuring they are safe and present no danger to the public.
We work closely with the Environment Agency, maintaining numerous pumping stations, penstocks and outfalls on the regions' rivers and flood plains.
It is important to our company that we minimise the environmental impact of all our operations because we view this as an integral part of our continual improvement.
