Flap Valves
Our scope of supply of this common mechanism for controlling flow extends from standard cast iron or HDPE flaps in common sizes off the shelf, through to a whole range of bespoke flaps for inland waterways or tidal structures using Stainless Steel, HDPE or fabricated mild steel. There is no upper limit of size of flap available as a custom design option using FEA analysis can always provide the best value option for whatever your requirement. Installation services use our experienced teams working to tight windows afforded by tidal movements, or by temporary dams stop logs, or even working underwater.
Tilting Weirs
For accurate upstream level control, a tilting weir cannot be beaten, and the Waterfront tilting weir combines superior material choices and meticulous design into a low maintenance package that is easy to operate and offers a long, trouble free life. After an initial site survey the entire unit can be delivered to site fully built and can be installed quickly and easily and be fully operational the same day.
Stoplogs
Our range of stoplogs extends from small aluminium or stainless sections through to large fabricated steel units wide enough to work in the largest river outlet. Each is designed to comfortably withstand the required backpressure and fit within existing channels or within fabricated guides that can be bolted to the channel wall. Our diving teams can be provided to install the guide channels even in submerged conditions.
Trash Screens & Cleaners
ECS are a framework contractor to the Environment Agency for the provision of coarse bar trash screens for the protection of culverts and pumping stations from large debris washed downstream in flood conditions. Our screens are custom designed in either galvanised mild steel or stainless steel and incorporate safe access for manual raking. Large Assets
Our portfolio of completed projects includes the refurbishment, upgrade or replacement of large custom manufactured water control devices, including radial gates, mitre gates, tilting sluices and vertical sluice gates. Many of these projects have been undertaken on a full turnkey package incorporating all mechanical, civil and electrical installation trades. Refurbishments services also extend to the control gear operating these structures (including gearbox repairs) and upgrading the safe access for maintenance.

Handling & Actuation
All the devices shown above can be supplied with mechanical operating gear, electric or hydraulic actuators. Mechanical winch mechanisms for lifting of large flaps for inspection are a speciality.
Site security & Safety
To protect your assets, our installations can incorporate a full range of fencing and guardrail in timber or steel to ensure that unauthorised access is reduced.
Monitoring & Measuring
Where required your installation can be complimented with a range of visual or remote flow monitoring devices and where required, telemetry links to control centres can be added.
